The roles switch when the Oakland A's host the San Francisco Giants in the second part of their home-and-home series starting Wednesday night. The A's return to the Oakland Coliseum after posting a winning record on a road trip of six or more games for the first time since June 2014.
A's left-hander Sean Manaea rejoins the rotation Wednesday after missing two weeks with a left pronator (forearm) strain. In nine starts this year, Manaea is 2-4 with a 6.02 ERA.
The Giants will counter with Jake Peavy, who has looked like an ace over the past month. He's 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA and 15 strikeouts in his last three starts.
