Bettis set to face Hendricks as Rockies battle Cubs

Rockies right-hander Chad Bettis will face righty Kyle Hendricks to open a three-game set against the Cubs on Friday on Jackie Robinson Day at Wrigley Field.
Bettis, making his third start of the season, is coming off a strong outing. He limited the Padres to two runs, one earned, in seven innings last Sunday to help the Rockies avoid a series sweep.
Hendricks will make his second start of the season and first at home. He held the D-backs to two runs on four hits and one walk with five strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings last Saturday.
Things to know about this game
• The Rockies will play four straight day games, having ended their series with the Giants on Thursday afternoon before playing three day games in Chicago.
• The Cubs have won the season series with the Rockies at Wrigley Field four straight years and seven of the past nine seasons. The clubs went 1-1 in Chicago in 2009, and the Rockies took two of three games there in '11. But since 2007, the Rockies are 7-20 at Wrigley Field.
• In eight games entering Thursday, the Cubs' starters were 6-0 with a 3.10 ERA (18 earned runs, 52 1/3 innings) and ranked third in the National League in starters' ERA. The Cubs had gotten at least six innings from their starter in each of those eight games.
