The Mariners have been trouble for the Rangers lately, beyond taking two of three last week in Arlington.
The Mariners have won 19 of their last 30 games between the two teams, something the Rangers will be trying to reverse during a three-game series that starts Monday night at Safeco Field.
Colby Lewis will be on the mound for the Rangers, and he pitched well in his last start against the Mariners, holding them to three runs in six innings on Wednesday afternoon. He was in line for the victory before the Mariners scored five in the ninth for a 9-5 victory.
This will be just the second time in the past three seasons that Lewis has faced the same team in consecutive starts.
"I am probably fresh on their minds," Lewis said. "For me, I still have my game plan and still try to do the things that I do well. I'll adjust to situations with what the game brings."
Mariners starter Hisashi Iwakuma also faced the Rangers last Tuesday, allowing two runs in five innings although not involved in the decision. The Mariners ended up winning, 10-2, in the second game of the series. Iwakuma is 8-3 with a 3.43 ERA in 14 career starts and one relief appearance against the Mariners.

• The Rangers have turned at least one double play in seven straight games.
• Kyle Seager was 3-for-11 with four runs scored, a home run and three RBIs against the Rangers in Arlington. He has played in 88 games against Texas in his career and is hitting .331 with 15 home runs, 57 RBIs and a .547 slugging percentage.
• Rangers reliever Tom Wilhelmsen makes his first trip back to Seattle since being traded by the Mariners this past winter. He pitched for the Mariners from 2011-15, and his 267 career pitching appearances is 11th all-time for that franchise.
